What diet plan have you had the most success with? Weight Watchers, The Biggest Loser diet, etc, plain old healthy eating in moderation, etc? What worked the best for you, and why?

Best Answer:

Diets don't work they are to hard to stick to. IF you truly want to lose weight and keep it off for good there are a few things you have to do. Portion control, eat what a TRUE serving is!!!! Eat about six small meals instead of three large ones, Eat more fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Cut down on your protein we as Americans eat more than our bodies truly need any way. And exercise even if you just add 15 minutes a day walking into your day you will start to lose weight, if you do all of the other things also. You don't have to stop eating what you like, You just have to eat it in the correct portions rather than what we've gotten used to. IF you do this you will lose weight, maybe not as fast as you would like but you will lose weight and you will keep it off. The faster that you lose weight usually the faster that you gain it back again. We need to eat more like our parents did and less like the media would want us to.

Honestly, what's worked best for me is to eat a high-fiber diet (lots of cereal and whole grains) and count every. single. calorie. on fitday.com. Plus cutting out the booze.... it's deeply depressing how many calories are in a pint of beer. I also joined a local 24-hour fitness and have been going 2x/week, and am hoping to up that once my work schedule settles down a bit. I've dropped 8 pounds in January... ten more to go and I'll be a skinny minx again. I've tried the South Beach diet in the past, and couldn't manage induction that well. I never have much of a sweet tooth but when you absolutely *can't* have any high-GI foods you *crave* those suckers.
